History
The flag of Omsk Oblast was adopted in 2002 following a regional design competition. Its 2:3 design uses three unequal vertical stripes in the Russian regional tradition, with a dark-blue wavy band on the white center stripe representing the Irtysh River. The red fields symbolize bravery, courage, fearlessness, life, charity, and love, while the white stripe signifies nobility, purity, justice, generosity, and the snowy Siberian landscape.
