History
The flag of Nakhon Phanom Province was adopted by the Thai Ministry of Interior in 2000. It consists of a red-over-black horizontal bicolor with the provincial seal on a gold field. The seal depicts the chedi of Phra That Phanom, a sacred Buddhist stupa that symbolizes the province’s religious heritage. Before this design, the province used a flag based on the national flag of Thailand with the provincial seal centered.
