History
Khövsgöl Aimag adopted this flag in 2014 following a locally organized design contest. The light blue field represents the clear waters of Lake Khövsgöl, the white wave-like motif refers to the lake’s surface and the region’s fish, and the golden sun symbolizes prosperity and a bright future. The design uses a simple blue, white, and yellow palette without text or a complex seal.
