History
The flag of Govi-Altai Aimag has been in use since 2011. Its 1:2 design places blue in the upper two-thirds to represent the eternal Mongolian sky and yellow in the lower third to represent the Gobi desert. The provincial coat of arms in the blue field expresses the identity of the aimag through imagery including local mountains, a horse, and traditional motifs.
