Kamchatka Krai

The flag of Kamchatka Krai was officially adopted on 23 February 2010 in a 2:3 proportion. Its white stripe represents the region’s snow-covered landscape, purity, and peacefulness, while the blue stripe refers to the surrounding seas and the importance of maritime routes. The central emblem shows a stylized red sun behind three snow-capped volcanic peaks, reflecting Kamchatka’s volcanic landscape and the beginning of a new era after the 1 July 2007 merger of Kamchatka Oblast and Koryak Autonomous Okrug.
