Blue flag with a large white hoist-side triangle and a gold ring enclosing a small white-blue-red horizontal tricolor near the hoist.
The flag of Chukotka Autonomous Okrug was officially adopted on 28 February 1994 and modified on 29 October 1997. Its design is linked to a Soviet-era film made in the 1970s about the Russian Civil War in Siberia, for which a white-red-blue banner was created as a prop; the same tricolour was later proposed for the region’s flag. The colors have been associated with peace and honesty for white, bravery for red, and loyalty and strength for blue.
