History
This alternative flag of Durrës is a modern municipal banner used after the 2000–2001 local-government reform. It presents the city's emblem on a white field in its standard form, using maritime imagery associated with Durrës’ long history as an Adriatic port. The galley and waves refer to the sea and the city’s trading role, while the white field symbolizes peace.
