The flag of the Altai Republic is a simple horizontal design of white, light blue, white, and light blue stripes.
The flag of the Altai Republic was designed by V. P. Chukuyev and first adopted on 2 July 1992. Its proportions changed from 1:2 to 2:3 on 29 June 1994, briefly reverted to 1:2 on 24 April 2003, and were restored to 2:3 on 22 March 2016. The white bands symbolize eternity, renewal, love, and the consent of the republic’s peoples, while the light blue represents purity, the lofty mountains, rivers, lakes, and the sky.
