The flag of the Pitcairn Islands is a Blue Ensign with the Union Jack in the canton and the territory’s coat of arms on the fly.
The Pitcairn Islands flag was officially adopted on 2 April 1984. It is a defaced Blue Ensign featuring the territory’s coat of arms, which had been granted on 4 November 1969. The design was suggested by the Island Council and approved by Queen Elizabeth II. The shield’s blue, yellow, and green colors represent Pitcairn rising from the Pacific Ocean, while the anchor and Bible refer to HMS Bounty and the introduction of Christianity. The crest’s wheelbarrow and miro twig symbolize agriculture and local craft.
