Historical red-white-blue horizontal tricolor of the Croatian Republic of Herzeg-Bosnia with a centered gold-bordered chequy coat of arms.
The flag was used by the Croatian Republic of Herzeg-Bosnia from 1992 until the entity’s dissolution in 1996. It was officially adopted in 1992 during the Bosnian War. The design uses red, white, and blue horizontal bands and a central Herzeg-Bosnia coat of arms reflecting Croatian heraldic tradition. It later continued as the flag of the Herzeg-Bosnia canton until a 1997–98 Constitutional Court ruling found it unconstitutional because it represented a single ethnic group. It remains in informal use among some Croat communities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
