History
The flag is used by Ștefan Vodă raion in Moldova. It was adopted in the early 2000s after the 1999 administrative-territorial reform that created the raion. The design follows a Moldovan sub-national heraldic style centered on the district emblem, and the lion refers to Stephen the Great, after whom the district is named.
