#0802 · city_flag
A solid red flag with the centered coat of arms of Sevastopol, showing a diagonally divided white and blue shield with a gold star, a monument, and a laurel branch.
The design was first adopted on 12 February 1969. The central coat of arms represents key elements of Sevastopol’s identity: the white field refers to the white stone of Inkerman, the blue field symbolizes the sea, the gold Hero City star commemorates the city’s World War II victory, the monument depicts the Monument to the Sunken Ships, and the laurel branch signifies honor. The flag remained in use until it was formally relinquished on 3 July 2019.
