Uttaradit

The flag of Uttaradit province was officially adopted in 1997 as part of a nationwide program giving each province of Thailand its own distinctive flag. The provincial seal symbolizes local identity: a white elephant on a green hill with a lotus blossom and blue wavy lines representing the Nan River. The white elephant refers to royal patronage and the province’s former role as a royal garrison, the hill reflects the forested terrain, the lotus represents purity and Buddhism, and the waves denote the river’s importance to agriculture, transport, and livelihood.
