History
The flag of Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya province was officially adopted in 2000 by Thailand’s Ministry of Interior. Its design uses dark blue and medium blue vertical bands with the provincial seal in the center and the province’s name beneath. The seal depicts a pavilion sheltering a white conch on a ceremonial tray in honor of King Uthong, the legendary founder of Ayutthaya, with the fragrant manjack, the provincial tree, shown behind it. This design replaced an earlier provincial flag that used the provincial seal on the background of the national flag.
