Pattani Province

The flag of Pattani Province features the historic Phaya Tani cannon as its central emblem. The yellow field is associated with the Thai monarchy, prosperity, and Buddhist heritage, while the green field reflects the province’s largely Islamic population and agricultural roots. The cannon recalls the former Pattani kingdom and remains a symbol of the province’s distinct historical identity. Earlier provincial flag designs appeared from the 1940s onward, and the present yellow-and-green version with the Phaya Tani cannon has been in official use since the early 2000s.
