History
Pathum Thani is a province north of Bangkok in Thailand. Its provincial flag uses a lotus as the main emblem, reflecting the meaning of the name Pathum Thani, or “city of lotus.” The lotus represents purity and prosperity, while the blue field is associated with the Chao Phraya River, the sky, and the province’s agricultural character. The design belongs to the standardized style of Thai provincial flags adopted in the early 1990s.
