New Zealand (2015 proposal)

During the 2015–2016 New Zealand flag referendum process, public submissions included many facetious and joke designs alongside more formal proposals. The wider process attracted heavy public mockery, while Kyle Lockwood’s silver fern design won the first referendum and went on to receive 43.2% of the vote in the final binding poll against the existing flag.
