History
The current flag of Morocco was formalized on 17 November 1915. It continues a long Moroccan red banner tradition associated with the Alaouite dynasty, while the centered green pentagram represents the Seal of Solomon and is widely associated with the five pillars of Islam. The flag remained in use through the protectorate period and continued as the national flag after independence.
