History
The flag of the Moravian-Silesian Region was adopted on 9 January 2003 after the region was renamed from the Ostrava Region in May 2001. Its quartered design combines heraldic symbols representing Silesia, Moravia, and the city of Ostrava, expressing the region’s historical dual heritage and modern administrative identity.
