Khmelnytskyi Oblast

Khmelnytskyi Oblast uses a 2:3 flag divided vertically into blue and red with the oblast coat of arms centered across both fields. The blue field symbolizes the sky, loyalty, and the Ukrainian nation, while the red field recalls the historic colors of Podolia and the bravery of its people. Regional symbols became possible after Ukraine’s 1997 law on local self-government, and the flag entered official use in the early 2000s before its current color scheme and heraldic details were fixed on 18 November 2003.
