History
Baikonur is a city in Kazakhstan associated with the Baikonur Cosmodrome, one of the world’s most significant space-launch centers. The city was known as Leninsk during the Soviet period and was renamed Baikonur in 1995. Its flag reflects that identity through spaceflight imagery and references to the sky and regional heritage.
