History
Baden-Württemberg uses the state colours black and gold. The state was created in 1952, and its flag was formally adopted in 1953. A state coat of arms was added in 1954 to symbolize the union of the former territories, combining the traditions of Swabia, Württemberg, and Baden under a crown with six smaller historic badges.
