History
The provincial flag of West Kalimantan was officially adopted in 2000. Its green field represents the province’s rainforest, fertile land, and agricultural wealth. The centered seal is placed on a five-pointed light-green shield whose points symbolize the five tenets of Pancasila. Elements in the seal represent the Kapuas River, a hornbill, a traditional Dayak roof, and rice as a sign of prosperity and sustenance.
