East Nusa Tenggara

East Nusa Tenggara is a province of Indonesia. A different provincial flag design is also associated with the province: a blue field over a red lower stripe with a single white star in the blue area. In that design, the blue represents the surrounding seas, the red recalls courage and blood shed in the struggle for independence, and the white star symbolizes unity and the province’s place within the Republic of Indonesia. That flag was officially adopted in the early 2000s during a broader move to give Indonesian provinces their own flags.
