History
The flag of Taipei City was officially adopted in 1994 as part of a municipal branding effort. It is commonly shown in a 2:3 proportion. The design has been described as using blue to evoke liberty, democracy, and the modern spirit of Taiwan’s capital, while the white calligraphic element symbolizes purity, cultural heritage, and the city’s historic role as a center of scholarship and governance.
