Styria

The flag of Styria uses the regional colors white and fir-tree green. These colors are associated with the land’s strong connection to its extensive fir forests, and the green is tied to Styria’s identity as the “green heart” of the region. A heraldic Styrian panther crowned with the historic ducal hat is used in the arms of Styria, with origins tracing to seals of Margrave Otakar III in the mid-12th century, but that emblem does not appear on this plain flag version.
