History

The flag represents the Finnish region of Satakunta. Its modern regional flag was officially adopted by the Satakunta Regional Council in the late 1990s. The design draws from the historic arms of Satakunta and uses heraldic symbolism associated with the region’s medieval heritage and provincial identity.
