History
The provincial flag of East Kalimantan was officially adopted on 30 November 2000 following the province’s administrative restructuring. Its green field represents the province’s tropical forests, fertile land, and the importance of nature. The central coat of arms includes a shield for protection, a gold star for Pancasila, and traditional Dayak weapons that express cultural heritage, readiness, and competence, while gold and red accents symbolize wealth and bravery.
