History
The flag of Central Kalimantan uses a red emblematic shield associated with bravery and the spirit of its people. Its central white star represents the five tenets of Pancasila, while the hornbill, known locally as the Enggang, symbolizes the province’s avian emblem and Dayak cultural heritage. The design was officially adopted in the early 2000s as part of the province’s vexillological identity.
