History
The provincial seal depicts the main hall of the historic Sothornvararamvoraviharn Temple and Luang Por Buddha Sothorn, symbolizing the province’s Buddhist heritage and role as a center of pilgrimage. The background color is associated with the Bang Pakong River, which has shaped local history, agriculture, and commerce. The emblem was adopted for provincial use after Chachoengsao was elevated from a city to a province in 1916 and remains the official provincial symbol.
