Flag of the Qing dynasty, also known as the "Yellow Dragon Flag". It is a yellow background flag, with the "Azure Dragon" (a dragon god) taking most of the space and a "red flaming pearl" in the upper-left corner.
Adopted in 1889 as the national flag and ensign of the Qing dynasty, the Yellow Dragon Flag used imperial yellow to denote royal authority. Its azure dragon, depicted with five claws reserved for the emperor, represented the sovereign’s power and legitimacy. The red flaming pearl symbolized wealth, luck, and prosperity. The flag remained in use until the Xinhai Revolution led to the abdication of the last emperor and its replacement by the Five‑Colored flag in early 1912. Standard proportion: 2:3.
