National flag of Syria adopted in 2025, featuring horizontal green, white, and black stripes with three red five-pointed stars centered on the white band.
The current national flag of Syria was adopted on 3 July 2025. It revives the green-white-black pan-Arab tricolor associated with Syria’s earlier independence-era flag tradition and replaces the 1980–2024 red-white-black flag with two green stars. The three red stars are commonly understood to represent the unity of the Syrian people and are often interpreted as referring to Aleppo, Damascus, and Deir ez-Zor.
